Speech #740240599

I yield myself 3 minutes. Mr. Speaker. this bill. reported from the Committee on Immigration. applies to nativeborn American women. who through operation of the Cable Act lost their citizenship because of their marriages to aliens and who since such marriages either have lost their husbands or been divorced and who now desire to regain American citizenship. " It allows them- to be repatriated. This bill provides a short form of naturalization allowing nativeborn American women. who have lost their citizenship through marriage to an alient. to take the oath ofallegiance to the United States and thereby be repatriated. This bill has the endorsement of all patriotic organizations and veterans organizations. It has been reported by our committee unanimously. and in my opinion. is for the best interest of the American women.
