Speech #740208297

Am I correct in my understanding also that the interdepartmental committee. consisting of a representative of the Department of Labor. a representative of the Department of State. and a representative of the Department of Justice. cannot prevent the deportation of any alien unless it is found that "the alien is of good moral character and has not been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude". secondly. unless the allen "has lived continuously in the United States for a period of not less than 10 years". and thirdly. unless the alien qhas lived continuously in the United States for at least 1 year and has living in the United States a parent. spouse. legally recognized child. or. if a minor. a brother or sister. who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence or is a citizen of the United States"? Those conditions limit the authority and power of the interdepartmental committee. do they not?
