The Senator from North Carolina has a bill here. the ReynoldsStarnes bill. which is an immigration bill. It provides for registration of aliens and certain further restrictions on immigration. That bill has nothing to do with the bill which the Senate today is considering. That is an immigration bill. This is a deportation bill. As to section 3. many persons felt that it was too stringent. and many felt that it was too lenient. Something has been said about the American Federation of Labor being opposed to the bill.
