Session #74 · 1935–37

Speech #740208130

On Friday. April 3. and Saturday. April 4. it is true that I consumed almost the entire session of the Senate talking about the immigration question. fighting the pending bill. and I say to my colleagues that I have no apologies to make to any Member of this body for that. I have no apologies to make. because I was talking for the men and women of America who are interested in holding up the standards set by your forefathers. I took up that time in an attempt to defeat the bill which is before us now. and I have no apologies to make for what I did.
