It is evident from the facts that if he had been deported the Government would have been compelled to take care of his dependentssome children and his wifeI imagine. also. if he had been deported he would have been brought before a court martial. and I think we will agree that that might have resulted in his being stood before a firing squad. I do not know how far the Senators reports go in that respect. and I myself have never looked into any of the 2.862 cases. I am hoping the Senator is not picking out the worst one of the whole 2.862?
