I may say to the Senator from Washington that the hangmans job is a gentlemans job compared to that of the Commissioner General of Immigration and the Secretary of Labor in many of these cases because they are so heart appealing. It just tears ones heartstrings to have to make a decision. However. the question is. as was said by a very distinguished man now on a high court. "What is the law?" One has to follow the law. I would not want to be in the place of the Commissioner General of Immigration and have to accept the responsibility of admitting those 2.800 persons.
