In the title of the bill occur the words. "and for other purposes." The other purposes of the bill has to do with the "abrogation of agricultural preference and charge to quotas of aliens permitted to remain or to change status." When the agricultural interests in the West needed men. immigrants for that purpose were allowed to come here outside the quota. Now they are not needed. as I understand. for we have sufficient farmers now in the country. and we want to take care of our own people. With that exception. I think my statement is accurate. that the measure is not an immigration bill.
