Progress has always been made through the leadership of liberals. and not through reaction. The ships which brought the first immigrants to America brought to our shores those who came here as refugees from political and religious persecution. America has in times past been the home of the oppressed and the downtrodden. Let us again breathe the free air of our free Republic. Let us again make it possible for all cur people to look forward with hope and ambition to economic well being and economic justice and fruitful opportunity. Let us assure our citizens of political honesty and of justice. then we shall have no fear of communism or its more terrible twin menace of fascism.
