I should like to.inquire of himbecause I was absent from the Chamber when the call of the calendar beganwhat disposition was made of the bill to authorize the deportation of criminals. to guard against the separation from their families of aliens of the noncriminal classes. to provide for legalizing the residence in the United States of certain classes of aliens. and for other purposes. The bill has been reported favorably by the Committee on Immigration and has been pending on the calendar of the Senate for some time.
