Mr. President. I object. -I do not think. the bill will facilitate the deportation of aliens. If I did: think so. I would gladly support it. I will vote for any genuine deportation measure. however farreaching it may be. As a matter of fact. I do not think authority should be. vested in- a committee composed- of representatives-: from various departments to prevent deportation of- a great many i aliens permitted to stay in this country in defiance of exist-: ing law by the same departments granted this additional . power. If such authority . were- granted. Congress wouldi thereby be denied the right to pass on thequestion..
