President. I recall a precedent which I found later in the day. In 1930. when the immigration bill was under consideration. the Senator from Minnesota moved to recommit it on one day. the following day the Senator from Virginia made a similar motion. which was adopted. At that time the question now before us was not raised as to the propriety of a motion made under these circumstances. but at this particular time three motions to recommit have been made. and each having varied from the other in general garb. nature. and appearance. I submit that the motion now made is in order.
