It is estimated that perhaps 150.000 aliens have acquired United States citizenship through the naturalization of their parents since the taking of the 1930 census. Altogether. Mr. Chairman. these figures and estimates given me by the Department of Labor. based upon their officially known facts. would seem to show that the number of unnaturalized aliens in the United States at the present time is not far from a total of 5.146.739. and perhaps 1.546.739 of these have now taken out their first papers or their declarations of intentions to become citizens of the United States.
