It has been conservatively estimated that $300.000.000 yearly has slipped through the hands of the poor into the hands of the ultrarich because of the defects in the revenue law. This condition has been remedied. The immigration and naturalization laws have been liberalized so that lawabiding persons who heretofore could not become citizens are now eligible for citizenship at much lower cost to themselves. This will aid the worthy who desire to become citizens of our great country. I should like to pause for a moment to mention an undertaking in which I was particularly interested because of the need existing in my own district for it.
