Session #73 · 1933–35

Speech #730162281

We have no interest as to how the foreign nations conduct their own government or what their inner troubles might be. but we are deeply and earnestly concerned about the safety and welfare of our own Government and the American people. we must insist that they be protected against the invasion of any foreign propagandists. To that end I am in favor of this investigation. As a member of the Immigration Committee where this investigation originated. I desire to say that the entire committee voted in favor of this resolution. Subsequently it was voted unanimously out of the Steering Committee and the Committee on Rules.
