That bill was opposed by many of us. but our opposition was not sufficient to prevent the passage of that bill. This will repeal that law. These are the facts upon which that law was enacted: An American soldier after the war became enamored of a woman in Germany who had a criminal record and could not meet the requirements of the immigration laws. Before the marriage this man made inquiry of the American authorities whether she could be admitted if he married her and was advised that she could not. He defied the authorities and married her. and then sought to bring her in as his wife.
