Mr. Speaker. as the first session of the Seventysecond Congress is drawing to a close without definite action having been taken on my bill to conform naturalization procedure to the American Bill of Rights. I feel that I ought to make some statement as to its purpose and its present status for the information of the Membership of the House. Such a statement is due. not only to my own selfrespect. but as a matter of grateful acknowledgment to the thousands of unselfish Americans who have come voluntarily to the support of a measure which they regard and I regard as based upon the foundations of true democracy and true Americanism.
