Mr. Chairman. I am glad that my distinguished Democratic friend from Florida has been moved to castigate his fellow Democrats for their shortcomings in their failure to support a program of restriction of immigration. Of course. the country knows that the Republicans have always been recognized as the champions of the policy of keeping America for Americans. The Republicans wrote the quota law of 1924. The Democrats have had control of the House of Representatives during this session and have failed to enact any restrictive legislation of any kind. My friend Mr. GREEN is entirely right in his criticism. In my own time I wish to ask him upon whom does he place the responsibility for the failure to pass any immigration legislation during this session of Congress.
