It makes me sick and tired to hear socalled statesmen from some of the Southern States where the notorious organization. the KuKluxKlan. that preached against aliens. used to go out in the dark of night wearing a white sheet. a hood. and a mask. talk about our sacred institutions and in opposition to all aliens. To hear them so talk you would necessarily have to believe that they were absolute descendants of American Indians. who are the only real Americans in the first instance. Now. gentlemen. there is not a particle of difference between repealing the immigration law and allowing millions of ablebodied workers to come into America and work in the factories and on the farms of America raising grapefruit. oranges. and tomatoes. and so forth. in the gentlemans district in Florida than it is to let them work on the farms and in the factories across the pond and send their products into America to compete with the products of American workers and American farmers without proper tariff protection. The southern Democrats. particularly those below the MasonDixon line. are not consistent. Of course. we know you are demagogues on the tariff.
