Of course. I am not reflecting upon the Senator from Minnesota [Mr. SHIPSTEADI. because. as the Senator from Michigan has said. the people of his State want this question settled. Five million members of union labor are asking for its settlement. 6.500.000 farmers are asking for its settlement. 17 beet States want it settled. 5 sugar States want it settled. The distinguished Senator from California knows that the Pacific coast demands a definite cleancut settlement at this session of Congress in the matter of immigration.
