It is unfair to permit these aliens. who have entered in defiance of our law. and whose presence here is coupled - with a contempt for our ideals and institutions. to remain here. Their competition is unfair to American workmen and to aliens lawfully in the United States. Last year the Department of Labor deported 20.000 aliens. Let us facili- tate their work by passing an act which provides for alien registration. Registration of aliens in the United States is neither a new nor a novel proposition.
