Session #72 · 1931–33

Speech #720094266

Speaker. reserving the right to object. I am not going to object. but I want to make a note that this thing has happened in every Congress for years and years. until Calendar Wednesday is almost worthless. The -Committee on Immigration has not had a Calendar Wednesday call since 1922. I agree it is necessary to speed up. and I want to say to the Democratic leaders that I know they have the work to do. but. as a matter of fact. they are throwing these great big national problems across the plate a little too fast. With this statement.
