I say. gentlemen. let us be fair. You voted this provision in in the State Department bill and neither the gentleman from Maine nor the gentleman from New York nor the gentleman from Pennsylvania rose to say anything about the automatic increases there. You voted this provision in in the Commerce Department bill and not one of these gentlemen rose to protest because we were striking out the automatic increases. That same provision applies to the immigration inspector in the Labor Department. and still not one of these gentlemen rose to his feet and said it was unfair not to give them these automatic increases.
