Session #72 · 1931–33

Speech #720026119

Mr. President. .I feel a very considerable reluctance to object to the request. particularly because. as a member of the Committee on Immigration. I have not been able to take my proper share in the consideration of this bill. The Finance Committee has been meeting every day and. with its sessions. made it impossible for me to do what I ought to have done in the work on the seamens bill. I can not be here tomorrow. and while I have not the slightest objection to final action being postponed until tomorrowwhich. I understand. is what the Senator meansI LXXV172 should like to have the Senate consider this bill for a time today. in order that certain thoughts may be explained.
