I would not be willing as a member of the committee. Mr. President. to have the bill recommitted to the Committee on Immigration. and certainly I should object to its reference to the Committee on Commerce. The Committee on Immigration has had jurisdiction of this measure for three or four Congresses. In the House of Representatives the Committee on Immigration has had jurisdiction of the same subject. I have no objection to giving my friend from Connecticut full opportunity to debate it and to present any facts that he may have and that he may deem relevant and pertinent. I shall not ask to have the bill considered at this time. in view of the desire to take up the moratorium measure. but. as I have stated.
