I ask you: How can we honestly sit idly by and not do everything within our power to prevent greedy employers of labor from pulling down wages and putting the American worker on the low level of the Chinese coolie. in the face of all that was said only a few months ago when we were discussing the tariff bill and talking about the high standard of living in this country and the high standard of American wages? We must maintain the high standard of the American worker.
