Our committee has made certain recommendations to the Congress in that connection. and I think they should be adopted. I think this Government is big enough to have at least one agency to keep in touch with what is going on with respect to this movement. As I said before in answer to the gentlemans question. the membership of the Communist Party in the United States is largely alien and overwhelmingly foreign born. It is estimated that 75 to 95 per cent of all communists in this country are aliens and naturalized citizens. Very few native Americans are connected with the movement. The efforts to communize the foreignborn element in our population have met with greater success than any other effort of the communists.
