Prohibition has been injected into the debate. and necessarily so. by reason of the purpose of the bill and what it will do. If there is great care in the selection of the personnel. the picking of men of judgment and some training. perhaps this may work out all right. We have had very little trouble with our immigration officials on the border line. We have had very few instances of corruption among the immigration officials. and they have not been paid any too well. The gentleman from Washington knows that. We have had no trouble with our customs officials.
