I do not wish the statement made concerning the refusal to grant his request that the bill be returned to the calendar to stand on the RewoRD without a further statement. The fact is that the bill just under discussion has been pending in the Congress since 1926. It had ample hearings before the Immigration Committee on two occasions. It has been reported from the committee on two occasions. On one occasion it passed the Senate. but because of the lateness of the time in the session it failed to receive consideration by the House. though it was considered by the House committee.
