Mr. President. of course the question of the immigration which Is to come into the United States from this time on is one of the major problems with which the Congress has to deal. Upon its determination depends. at least to a considerable extent. the future makeup of the population of this country. I have listened with interest to the distinguished and able Senator from Georgia who has just concluded. With his conclusions I differ. I think the difference between his last statement and the position which has been taken by the Senator from Iowa . and which I propose to take now is the real fundamental issue between the Senators in this body who hold opposite views upon this most important American problem.
