Blaine. He had vision to look forward and to point out in far better terms than I can employ that this Nation should not open its doors to the millions of Chinese who were striving to come into the United Statesa race alien to our social system and form of government. If the Chinese exclusion bill had not been passed there would now be millions upon millions of Chinese in the United States. Does anyone think that would be desirable? Is there any thoughtful man. is there any statesman. who now thinks that it was unwise to close our doors to the coming of the Chinese people?
