Mr. Chairman. there is an item now pending before the deficiency committee of $350.000 to cover the item the gentleman has in mind. We can not agree with tle gentleman from Washington. much as we would like to. We have increased the appropriation for regulation of immigration by $885.000. The $350.000 now pending before the deficiency committee will make a very large and substantial sum. one that we feel they can get along with very easily. Another thing. we must take into consideration the fact of the proposed consolidation of several activities. I think for the present you will see that we are appropriating all of the money that we should.
