It is estimated that today there are 60.000 Filipinos in the United States. They are citizens of the United States and are free to come en masse from the Philippines to this country whenever they see fit. There are 13.000.000 Filipinos in the islands. and. although in our immigration act we have set up the polIvy of excluding Asia tics--Japanese and Chinese. for exanlpleyet. because the Philippine Islands are a part of the United States. their population can come into the country whenever they want to do so. It so happens that most of the Filipinos who have come to the United States have settled in the Western Statesin Oregon. Washington.
