Mr. Speaker. in connection with the bill H. R. 3656. which I recently introduced in the House. authorizing an appropriation of $5.000 for the erection of a tablet or marker at Weiser Park. Berks County. Pa.. to commemorate the services of Conrad Weiser to the United States of America. I desire to mention that Col. Conrad Weiser was born in Germany in 1696. emigrating to America in 1710 with his father and other Palatines. spending three years on Livingston Manor. N.Y. Father and son passed the winter of 1713 with a Mohawk chief in Schenectady. N. Y.. and in the spring they went to the Schoharie Valley. where they suffered great hardships.
