Germans. and Irish. should be discriminated against or whether we do not believe it. That is the issue and we can not shield it under any cloak of patriotism. If Senators want to discriminate against them. then they should vote to sustain the committee. but if they do not want to discriminate against them. then they should vote for the Nye resolution. If Senators vote for the Nye resolution and it is upheld and anybody in the Senate or a majority of the Senate want to restrict immigration. then let us do it. I would be one who would vote to restrict immigration more than it is restricted under the socalled nationalorigins clause.
