I shall not forget to mention my own candidate. Mr. President. but I am not ready to do it yet. The resolution which is pending before the Senate is a resolution to discharge the Committee on Immigration from a repealer bill now lying in that committee. It is an unusual procedure in the Senate. Mr. President. I have had the precedents looked up. and I find that not since 1924five years ago today. June 6. 1924was a similar effort made. except by unanimous consent where a bill had been wrongly referred and the committee was discharged merely to transfer the bill to another committee.
