Not materially different at all. and if I could have my way about it. and have an opportunity to demonstrate my belief in restricted Immigration. I should offer an amendment to the bill as to which we are attempting to discharge the committee from further considerationan amendment which would provide a shaving down of the present basis of quotas to a point that would be nearer to 150.000 than it now is. in other words. to a point that would be similar to that point which would prevail under a basis of quotas builded under the nationalorigins plan. namely. about 153.000 or 154.000. according to the last estimates submitted by the experts who have been studying this problem.
