Session #70 · 1927–29

Speech #700185460

I also want to express at this time my thanks for the fair treatment I received at all the executive departments. and especially in the Department of Labor. I hope that Mr. Hoover will see fit to retain that fine gentleman. Mr. James J. Davis. in the job he now holds as Secretary of Labor. And I hope. too. that Mr. Harry E. Hull. Commissioner General of Immigration. will be retained for his splendid service in that position. Mr. Davis is a true and living example of what immigration can do for our country. He is an hmnigrant from Wales. Surely he is a benefit to the Nation.
