I have a letter here from a concern that wanted to bring in a mail for the potter industry. and in order to establish the fact there were no men who could be so employed in the United States they were compelled to show that they had advertised in all the journals that concerned pottery and that they had advertised in certain other papers throughout the United States where it was possible to get such help. They have got to make a definite showing that there are no people available for the work in the United States. The character of the work itself for which these people are wanted is such that this is quite apparent. For instance. right now. in my own State. the farmers would like to establish a silkworm industry. The Japanese have been very proficient in this. but they can not be brought in. Italians could bd used for this. but under the quota law they can not be brought in for some time.
