He had been for several years Reeds laboratory assistant. Aristides Agramoute was born in Cuba during the 10 years war In which his father. a Cuban officer. was killed in battle by the Spaniards. His family had refugeed In the United States. and he had been educated in New York. He had graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York in 1892 and at this time was in charge of the laboratory of the Division of Cuba tn Habana. He is the only surviving member of the commission and has for many years been a distinguished professor In the school of medicine of the University of Habana.
