Soon after his entry here he became a member of the Committee on Immigration and was one of the chief developers and advocates of legislation regarding entrants from abroad which set up new safeguards for the standards and traditions of our country. Later he reached that aristocrat of committees. Foreign Relations. and became one of the most diligent students. one of the inost earnest defenders. of the foreign policies of his party.
