Mr. Speaker and gentlemen of the House. I favor immigration restriction and do not believe in delaying. procrastinating. evading. and dodging the issue. I believe that inasmuch as this immigration legislation has been enacted. the proper and patriotic thing for us to do is to go on record as standing by this law. Eighty or 90 per cent of the American citizens desire restricted immigration. They desire the protection of America for American citizens and the perpetuating of American ideals. they are not in sympathy with wedges being driven into the cracks on the plea of humanitarianism and for humanitys sake and separation of families.
