I wish simply to state that the bill which I introduced for the repeal of the nationalorigins clause is based upon the argument that there are no reliable statistics or data upon which the national origins of our population can be arrived at. At some future time I shall take occasion to address the Senate upon the evidence that is available to show that that argument. I think. is good. � I should like to ask the Senator from Missouri just one more question. and then I shall not bother him further. I should like to ask the Senator if he does not think it would be a good idea to write an Immigration law prohibiting immigration and making it retroactive back to 1402?
