I am sure would not be as firm if you knew of the suffering and hardship that exist in hundreds and hundredsI will say thousands and thousandsof families throughout the country. Because you are not in direct contact with the problem. you are firm in your belief that it is dangerous to make any change in the law at all. What I am asking the House to do. without disturbing in the slightest the immigration policy which you have established by the act of 1924. Is to give these good people some relief. All they are asking is an opportunity to send for their wives and children.
