He was a Representative in Congress in tle Fortyninth and Fiftieth Congresses from 1885 to 1889 from the thirtyfifth congressional district of New York. The then thirtyfifth district is now largely in the present fortysecond congressional district. fTom which comes our good friend and colleague JAMES M MEAD. Colonel Webers public service was as sheriff of Erie County. N. Y.. Representative in Congress for the Fortyninth and Fiftieth Congresses. and as Commissioner of Immigration at the port of New York from 1890 to 1893. He enlisted as a private in the Fortyfourth Regiment. New York Volunteers. in the Civil War and attained t he rank of colonel of the Eightyninth United States Colored Infantry.
