Speaker. this is a bill which passed the House designed to admit the wives and children of certain ministers of any religious denomination who were themselves in the United States prior to July 1. 1924. and whose wives and children had not arrived prior to that time. The bill was brought out from the House committee with a view to meeting that situation. To that extent it amends the immigration act of 1924. The number of persons affected is very small. In the meantime one of the high courts has made a decision. which decision has since been affirmed by the Supreme Court. admitting the persons sought to be relieved by this legislation.
