Session #69 · 1925–27

Speech #690141005

I know exactly the sympathy the Senator has for the producers of the country. It must necessarily give them a power which. I think. can only be given them by the Congress. a power to help them improve the situation which has been made for them by Congress in legislation heretofore enacted. I am not complaining. but I cite the tariff law. the immigration law. the railroad laws. and many other species of favorite legislation which have made necessary. in my opinion. legislation of this kind in order to give the farmer the same treatment we have given those engaged in other industries.
