Mr. Speaker. among the most pleasant and valuable associations afforded me since becoming a -Member of the Congress have been those resulting from my service on the Committee on Immigration and Naturalization. and this has been equally true of the service under the late John L. Burnett. chairman under the Democratic administration. and under the guidance of the present chairman. lon. ALBERT JOHNSON. of the State of Washington. The late JOHN E. RAKER was a member of this Important committee at the time I was assigned to It at the beginning of my service in Congress. and he remained one of its leading members until he was called to his last reward.
