Session #69 · 1925–27

Speech #690000356

I want to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of my district for advising me on many important and complicated legislative problems which have come up for action. I have been pleased by the number and variety of requests that have come to me for assistance in matters related to soldier bonus. Immigration. pensions. taxation. civilservice examiations. appointments to West Point and Annapolis. passports. requests for information from Government departments. for public documents. and so forth. This is. the most gratifying evidence and the best proof that citizens are interested in their Government and are willing to cooperate with their elected Representative if given the opportunity to do so. In this report I shall set forth concisely the activities of the second session of the Sixtyeighth Congress. which began on December 1. 1924. and closed on March 4. 1925.
