The State is distinctively American. Eightytwo and seventenths per cent of her people are whites of native parentage. In this respect she stands 27.5 per cent above the standard of tile United States. Only 2 per cent of her population is of foreignborn white stock and but 7 per cent is of foreign stock or of stock of which one or )oth parents were foreign born. Only 7.4 per cent of her population Is negro. which shows that. racially at least. Oklahoma is not. strictly speaking. to be classed with those Southern States of whose population 24.9 per cent is negro.
