I thought. perhaps. the Senator would. It seems to me. in view of the action which the Senate has taken. that the fees. which are paid into a State court which receives naturalization petitions and handles the cases and keeps the documents ought to have the fees. and that some legislation ought to be passed to that end. I do not see why the National Government should put on the State courts the burden of acting on applications for naturalization and permit them to retain only a few thousand dollars of the fees that are collected for that purpose. The amendments were ordered to be engrossed and the bill to be reid the third time.
